WHICH HYUNDAI MODELS ARE BEING RECALLED OVER EXPLODING SEAT BELTS?

Hyundai is recalling 239,000 cars due to exploding seat belt fears after three people were injured in the US and Singapore, NBC News reports.

The Korean automotive manufacturer has asked customers to bring their cars to their local dealer so seat belt pretensioners can be checked and, if required, repaired.

Of the total number, 166,000 cars are gas-only Elantra sedans, 12,000 are Elantra hybrids and 61,000 are Accent economy vehicles.

The Associated Press reports the recall was confirmed by the Korean carmaker following three injuries connected to seat belts, two in the US and one in Singapore.

All affected vehicles are four-door cars and vehicle owners will be notified if they need to take action by July 15th this year.
