Avalanche star forward Nazem Kadri returned to the Colorado lineup Wednesday night for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. He went on to score the game-winning goal deep into overtime.
Kadri had been sidelined since suffering a thumb injury during Game 3 of the Western Conference final vs. the Edmonton Oilers, when he took a hard hit into the boards from Evander Kane, and underwent surgery on June 6.
Through 13 games played in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs, Kadri now has seven goals and eight assists. He posted 28 goals and 59 assists during the regular season.
The Avalanche are up 3-1 on the Tampa Bay Lightning, with Game 5 set for Friday. Colorado is looking to capture its first Stanley Cup title since 2001.
