Kara-France was looking for his first chance at holding the flyweight title by going up against the former champion. The pair met previously at UFC 245 where Moreno won via unanimous decision. Since then Moreno went 3-1-1, including winning the flyweight title and competing in a trilogy with reigning champion Deiveson Figueiredo that could go down as one of the best in history. Kara-France earned the shot by going 4-1.

The winner will face Figueiredo at a day and time to be determined.
