It’s official! Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have tied the knot.
Spears, 40, and Asghari, 28, are now husband and wife, a source close to the couple tells USA TODAY.
The singer and personal trainer said “I do” in front of 100 people with her brother, Bryan, among the guests, TMZ reported earlier Thursday. Her mother Lynn, father Jamie and sister Jamie Lynn were not planning to be in attendance, according to the outlet.
But the day wasn’t without drama. Earlier Thursday, Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander was arrested after attempting to crash the ceremony.
“He has been detained handcuffed and arrested for his disgusting criminal misconduct,” Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart wrote in a statement to USA TODAY.
“I look forward to working closely with law enforcement to ensure he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as he must be,” Rosengart continued. “Fortunately, Britney is safe.”

The newlyweds got engaged in September, days after Spears’ father Jamie filed a petition with a Los Angeles judge seeking to end the conservatorship, a legal arrangement that has given him control over the pop star’s estate since 2008.
Legally, Spears could have gotten married, but under the conservatorship (which was terminated in November after 13 years), the wedding had to be approved as with other major life decisions.

Announcing her engagement in September, Spears shared a video on Instagram showing off her four-carat ring. “I can’t (expletive) believe it,” the “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer captioned the clip along with six engagement ring emojis and six exclamation points to her announcement.
“Look at that, do you like it?” Asghari asked of the ring in the short video, to which Spears replies, “Yes!”
Asghari’s talent manager Brandon Cohen confirmed the news in an email statement to USA TODAY saying, he was “proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement.”
“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” the statement said.

Spears teased her wedding on Mother’s Day with a photo of her veil.
That same day, Asghari revealed that they had set a date for their nuptials, but “nobody will know until the day after.”
“Our lives have been a real life fairytale. Happy Mother’s Day to you my soon to be queen,” he wrote on his Instagram Story alongside a photo of the pop star flashing her engagement ring.
In early 2022, Asghari and Spears began teasing that they had already gotten married. The pop star referred to her significant other as her “husband” in several posts on Instagram. In one post shared on April 8, Spears referred to Asghari as her “husband” in all capital letters added, “For the first time in my life … I can actually be taht girl who can act stuck up and talk to others about how I’m getting married.”
Asghari and Spears have been a couple for the last four years after meeting on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. The couple made their red carpet debut together in 2019 at the premiere for Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.”

Spears has been married twice before, tying the knot with Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 for 55 hours, before the couple quickly had their union annulled. That same year, Spears married her backup dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15. Spears filed for divorce in 2006, which was granted the next year.
The singer has previously expressed wanting to expand her family with Asghari. During a conservatorship hearing in June 2021, she told a judge she wanted to marry Asghari and have a baby with him during an impassioned plea to end the conservatorship. But Spears said she hadn’t been allowed to remove an intrauterine device for birth control or even drive.
In a March birthday tribute to Asghari, Spears doubled down on her desire to have more children. “Happy Birthday to my Fiancé … I love you so much … I want a family with you … I want it all with you !!!!” she gushed in the caption.
