How to Watch and Stream Macy’s 2022 July 4th Fireworks for Free on TV or Online

Summer is officially here, and we’re ready to celebrate of the season’s most exciting events from the comfort of our homes. You guessed it — we’re talking about the annual Macy’s Fourth of July Spectacular, which is set to be quite the ceremony.

After returning with a big splash last year due to a downsized event in 2020, the time-honored Independence Day ritual is set to be in full swing across New York City’s skyline tonight. Hosted by NBC Today anchors Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer, the two-hour spectacle will carry out some of its most-celebrated traditions, like launching over 48,000 shells from five spots along the East River and a colorful fireworks display at 9:25 p.m. ET. Macy’s even confirmed that the show will feature “dozens of colors and shapes, creating dramatic effects a mile across the river and from 1,000 feet in the air to the water’s edge.”

In terms of celebrity appearances, Craig Ferguson, Padma Lakshmi, Paulina Porizkova and Wolfgang Puck will all participate in a segment called, “American Spirit.” They will tell inspirational anecdotes from everyday heroes about what it means to be an American in the United States. But that’s not all. Macy’s understood the assignment, as the special will feature performances from some of the biggest names in music and Broadway. 5 Seconds of Summer, Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and Pitbull will play some of their biggest songs, and the cast members from Freestyle Love Supreme and Moulin Rouge! will also perform some numbers from their respective Broadway shows.
