Jadon Sancho has missed out on Manchester United’s friendly against Atletico Madrid as he is unwell.
Luke Shaw also did not travel for Saturday’s game as he has picked up a bug. Shaw was a surprise exclusion from the trip to Oslo, given the majority of players who are expected to feature against Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend travelled for the game against Atletico.
However, it is now understood he did not go because of his illness.
Winger Sancho was part of the travelling party but was unwell on Saturday and United have therefore decided against risking him for this game.
United instead selected Anthony Martial, Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford in the forward positions against Atletico.
David de Gea started in goal while the back four included new signing Tyrell Malacia at left-back. Erik ten Hag named Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Scott McTominay in midfield, while summer additions Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen made the bench.
