Lil Uzi Vert, popular Philly rapper, identifies as non-binary

Popular rapper Lil Uzi Vert appears to have come out as non-binary.

The Philadelphia native changed the pronouns on their Instagram page during the weekend to “they/them.”

A Yahoo Entertainment article said Lil Uzi Vert has a “longstanding track record of support for the LGBTQ+ community.”

“While remaining decidedly cryptic about their own sexual orientation, the rapper has repeatedly challenged the norms of hip-hop culture by playing with the notions of gendered clothing and donned rainbow-inspired outfits during Pride Month,” the site reported.

Lil Uzi Vert, whose real name is Symere Bysil Woods, made the change in pronouns just days after announcing the release of a new EP, “Red & White.” Yahoo Entertainment said there is no release date for “Red & White,” but it said it is expected to drop ahead of a planned mixtape with Future, “The Pink Tape,” which is expected later in the year.

Lil Uzi Vert also released a single, “Space Cadet,” on their Soundcloud page on Sunday.

The rapper’s “Luv is Rage 2,” reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 in 2017 with the hit single “XO Tour Llif3″ making it to seven on the Billboard Hot 100.

They have reportedly sold more than 43 million records and have a net worth of $25 million.
