Manchester United welcome Spanish side Rayo Vallecano to Old Trafford for their final preseason game ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
United have enjoyed a solid summer under new boss Erik ten Hag, with wins over Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace in Thailand and Australia, before losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in Oslo on July 30.
Rayo’s visit to Manchester is Ten Hag’s final chance to assess his squad ahead of their campaign opener at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the United squad is the big pre-game story, despite speculation surrounding his future at the club, with the 37-year-old yet to feature in preseason.

90 minutes to kickoff: Erik ten Hag will lead Man United for the first time at Old Trafford. If the good vibes he talks about below are to continue into next weekend’s Premier League debut, a good showing by his reserve side, and perhaps a few goals for Cristiano Ronaldo, wouldn’t hurt.
Ten Hag in programme notes: ‘A few weeks have passed since I started work at Carrington and I can already feel that we have moved in the right direction.’ #mufc
