Jersey-bred actor Ezra Miller, who has been a frequent subject of headlines for recent arrests in Hawaii, is facing accusations of grooming a teen girl.
Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle claim that Miller, who plays The Flash in the DC movies, behaved inappropriately towards their daughter, 18-year-old activist Tokata Iron Eyes, according to court documents obtained by People and TMZ.
In the documents, filed in Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court, the parents say Miller, then 23, met Tokata at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota in 2016, when their daughter was 12.
They accuse Miller, who grew up in Wyckoff and stars in the “Fantastic Beasts” movies and upcoming superhero movie “The Flash,” of using violence and “cult-like and psychologically manipulative, controlling behavior.”
The actor, currently 29, is accused of giving Tokata alcohol, marijuana and LSD. Tokata’s parents say their daughter was also put in a position to feel a debt to Miller after they offered to pay for Tokata to attend Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts.
They say the teen activist, who Miller flew to London at 14 to visit the “Fantastic Beasts” studio, also went to Miller’s house in Vermont and later went to New York to meet Miller and joined the actor in Los Angeles and Hawaii.
Iron Eyes and Jumping Eagle asked for a protective order against Miller. A hearing is set for July 12. Under the order, the actor can’t contact Tokata or their parents or come within 100 yards of their home, but the court could not serve the order to the actor, whose location — along with Tokata’s — is unknown.
Tokata defended Miller in an Instagram post.
“CONTEXT,” they said, sharing a longer note in which they called Miller a “comrade.” They said they dropped out of college five months ago and have been grieving a friend.
Miller, they said, “has only provided loving support and invaluable protection throughout this period of loss.”

They called the allegations against Miller false and “frankly transphobic and based in the notion that I am somehow incapable of coherent thought or opposing opinions to those of my own kindred worrying about my well being.”
Tokata alleged that they were subject to psychological and emotional manipulation in their family home.
In March, Miller was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and harassment in Hawaii after allegedly yelling obscenities at people in a karaoke bar, lunging at a man and grabbing a microphone from a woman.
In April, the Hawaii Tribune-Herald reported that the actor pleaded no contest to the disorderly conduct charge and was fined $500. Just hours earlier, Miller was arrested again in Hawaii for allegedly throwing a chair at a woman.
Rolling Stone previously reported that after the actor’s first arrest in Hawaii, executives at DC and Warner Bros. put Miller’s projects on hold.
Miller stars as Credence Barebone/Aurelius Dumbledore in the “Fantastic Beasts” movies, including “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” released in April. They play a young Salvador Dalí in the upcoming film “Dalíland.”
“The Flash,” which has been delayed several times, is currently slated for theatrical release June 23, 2023.
