Free-agent guard Donte DiVincenzo and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to a two-year, $9.3 million contract, sources told The Athletic on Friday. The deal includes a player option for the second year.
DiVincenzo became an unrestricted free agent when the Sacramento Kings declined to make him a qualifying offer.
The Kings acquired the 25-year-old former Bucks guard as part of a 2022 multi-team trade that sent Serge Ibaka to Milwaukee and Marvin Bagley to the Detroit Pistons.
DiVincenzo emerged as the Bucks’ starting shooting guard in 2020-21, averaging 10.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 37.9 percent from 3-point range. His production declined last season as he recovered from offseason ankle surgery, though he improved after being traded to Sacramento.
The Warriors lost out on free-agent guard Gary Payton II, who signed a three-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, shortly after the start of free agency Thursday. Additionally, former Golden State forward Otto Porter Jr. agreed to terms with the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
