Stranger Things season 4, part 2 is here. When can fans expect the continuation, Stranger Things season 5 to arrive?
The wait for the fourth season of Stranger Things has been a long one. Initially expected to be a year or two away from its predecessor at most, it ended up hitting screens almost three years after season 3’s debut on Netflix. But waiting was never an issue for a fanbase as passionate as this one, as it was clear they would return to catch up with their favorite characters.
Season 4 debuted in May, making its presence felt on Netflix with seven lengthy installments. However, that wasn’t be the only adventure in Hawkins viewers had this year, as season 4 is split up into two parts. Yes, that means a second part arrived as well, debuting on July 1.
If you’ve already binged your way through season 4 and need to know what’s next for the show, you’ll be happy to know that season 5 is indeed in the works. GOOD NEWS, though: Even though the official release date has yet to be confirmed, you shouldn’t have to wait anywhere near as long as you did for season 4.
Stranger Things season 5 release date predictions
Stranger Things season 5 is happening. The show was rumored to have a five-season story and Netflix officially confirmed it ahead of the fourth season’s release, renewing it for a fifth season and announcing that it would be the last one.
There will be a wait for season 5, though, particularly as it hasn’t started production yet. There isn’t that much information available on it simply because season 4 has just been released, but if you’re worried there will be another three-year long wait, the Duffer Brothers’ interview with Variety will undoubtedly put your mind at ease, as they revealed:
“Don’t hold us to it, but the gap should be quite a bit shorter this time, due to the fact that we already have an initial outline, and we can’t imagine there will be another six-month forced hiatus.”
Taking all of that into account, the earliest we could probably expect season 5 to debut would be late 2023, but the more likely possibility would be 2024. That’s just a prediction, though, so it’s best to wait for Netflix to make an announcement in regards to season 5’s release date.
